Antonio Conte has admitted that Alvaro Morata needs to improve after a disappointing performance against Inter Milan, report the Metro.
Morata made his first start in a Chelsea shirt on Saturday afternoon at left-wing, but failed to have any sort of an impact on the game.
Whether it be an issue with his fitness, or the fact he was being played out of his favoured position, one thing is for sure – he needs to do better. Conte agrees.
Speaking with the media after Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan, Conte revealed that Morata is working hard, but there is still plenty of room for improvement, as the Metro report:
“Morata is having training with us and for sure he has to improve a lot his physical condition to go quickly to the idea of our football, but he is working very well and today he tried to do his best but for sure he has to improve.”
The Metro claim that Morata’s arrival at Stamford Bridge set the Premier League champions back a club-record £60M. With that sort of transfer fee comes plenty of expectation. The Spaniard will undoubtedly be hoping to get into his groove sooner rather than later and start finding the back of the net.
