New signing Tiemoue Bakayoko has expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing alongside his international colleague N’Golo Kante at club level this season in an interview with Chelsea Magazine, report the Metro.
The 22-year-old joined Chelsea from Monaco in June after impressing for the Ligue 1 champions who reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last term.
After the departure of Nemaja Matic to Manchester United this summer, the French international is expected to be first-choice partner to N’Golo Kante in the heart of the Chelsea midfield this season when the young star returns from a knee injury.
Eagerly waiting to make his Chelsea debut, the 22-year-old spoke to Chelsea Magazine about his admiration for his soon-to-be midfield partner, as the Metro report.
“N’Golo Kante has proved it all,’ Bakayoko told Chelsea Magazine. He was the best player in the Premier League last season in the middle of the pitch and that is not easy. To play alongside him would be something very good for me and it can help me progress,” Bakayoko told Chelsea Magazine, reported in the Metro.
The bright midfielder also spoke about his time playing with the PFA Player of the Year when on international duty with France.
“I’ve played a match with him for the French national team so we know each other very well and I hope we can do beautiful things together this year,” Bakayoko revealed in an interview with Chelsea Magazine, according to the Metro.
Antonio Conte will be hoping that Bakayoko returns sooner rather than later with Cesc Fabregas suspended after the Burnely defeat.
