John Obi Mikel believes that Chelsea are in safe hands with Roman Abramovich at the helm.
Mikel knows this club like the back of his hand. He didn’t exactly set the world alight during his time at Stamford Bridge, but he’ll go down in history as a dependable and exemplary servant to Chelsea.
The Nigerian played a starring role in our Champions League triumph back in 2012, making Abramovich’s dreams come true and elevating Chelsea to the summit of European football. He believes that we have nothing to worry about, despite the Russian’s current predicament.
Abramovich is currently without a U.K visa, with the plans to redevelop our stadium being put on hold as a result. These are uncertain times with anyone with any affiliation to our great club, but Mikel is relaxed about the situation.
Mikel is quoted by the London Evening Standard attempting to reassure Chelsea fans that we’re in good hands:
“This club always bounces back, we always bounce back.”
“I am sure Roman [Abramovich] knows exactly what to do. Roman and Marina [Granovskaia], I am sure they know exactly what they are doing.”
What do you think, Blues? Do you agree with Mikel, or is there cause for concern?
