Chelsea appear to have made a decision over the future of youngster Charly Musonda, and there’s plenty to be excited about from a fan’s perspective.
According to Foot Mercato, Musonda is highly rated by both Antonio Conte and the club’s hierarchy, and will play a role in the first-team squad next season.
Musonda was recalled early from his loan at Real Betis, which fast turned into a cul-de-sac for his career. He trained at Cobham with the team for the final five months of the season, but did not play a minute of football in a Chelsea shirt.
If Foot Mercato are to be believed, however, not only will Musonda now be given guarantees over game-time in West London, negotiations are underway over extending his contract with the Premier League champions.
Musonda is one of the most talented players our academy has produced in recent years, and that’s saying something. He is destined to reach the very top of the game, and it looks as though he will be given the opportunity to do it at Chelsea.
