Chelsea are reportedly hopeful that our managerial situation will be resolved next week. It’s about time…
Antonio Conte’s exit from the club was signed and sealed some time ago, yet he is still officially in charge at Stamford Bridge. The circumstances as a whole are incredibly strange.
Maurizio Sarri is the favourite to land the Chelsea job, with Carlo Ancelotti already being confirmed as his replacement at Napoli. However, Sarri still has a contract with Napoli, while Conte does with Chelsea. It’s a bit of a mess.
Regardless, the Daily Mail report that Chelsea are hopeful that everything will be sorted next week, ahead of the World Cup. It’s claimed that our summer transfer plans have been put on hold until a new manager is appointed.
Robert Lewandowski, Anthony Martial and Jean Michael Seri are believed to be three players on Chelsea’s transfer shortlist. We assume that Sarri, or whoever our next manager may be, will have the give the moves the green-light before the club push forward with negotiations.
