Chelsea set a new FA Cup record with their win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

We all love a cup game, particularly in the FA Cup. This competition has given us some brilliant memories over the years and there’s more on the way with Chelsea having defeated Forest in the third round on Saturday afternoon.

Our win over the Championship side has actually seen us break a competition record. No team has ever won 21 consecutive third round fixtures in the FA Cup – until now!

Granted, we’ve had some straightforward draws early on in the competition, but to achieve such a level of consistency in a prestigious competition, over so many years and such a period of change, is quite remarkable.

Alvaro Morata is the man we have to thank for number 21. The unlikely hero, as he often can be, scored a brace at the Bridge to ensure that our name will be in the fourth round draw. Well in, Alvaro.
