Fears are mounting over the future of Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager, according to The Sun.
As per The Sun, Conte was expected to put pen-to-paper on a contract extension in wake of Chelsea’s Premier League triumph. However, talks between the Italian and the Blues have now stalled, raising serious question marks over his future in West London.
The tabloid believe that the length of his contract is proving to be an obstacle. There is thought to be dispute whether he will sign a four-year contract, or commit for a shorter term.
The Sun believe that Conte is also frustrated about Chelsea’s transfer business, despite the club announcing the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco on Saturday.
The Sun report that Conte has returned to Cobham for Chelsea’s pre-season tour, but there has still been no breakthrough in negotiations over a contract extension. Fingers crossed the situation will resolve itself sooner rather than later.
