Jose Mourinho has requested that Manchester United explore the possibility of signing Chelsea winger Willian, according to the Express.
Willian has been off the boil recently, but won the Blues’ player of the year award in the 2015/16 campaign. During that forgettable season, he established himself as one of the most deadly free-kick takers on the planet. It proved to be a useful tool for Chelsea in what was a year to forget.
Mourinho, who was Chelsea manager at the time, appears keen to reunite with the Brazilian. As per the Express, ‘The Special One’ has requested that the Red Devils make a move to sign Willian should he look to leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.
Here we go again…
Chelsea have sold both Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic to Man United in recent seasons – and both players directly improved their side.
We can’t afford to make the same mistake. We ought to ignore all advances from United, and if Willian does want to leave the club, we should look to ship him off abroad.
