Betfair have slashed Chelsea’s odds of signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, report the Express.

According to the Express, the odds were previously 16/1, but have been slashed to 7/1 following a number of bets.

Oftentimes, this means very little, but someone could know something about Chelsea’s transfer plans this summer.

As the Express note, the Premier League champions have missed out on signing Romelu Lukaku, who looks to be on his way to Manchester United.

Antonio Conte will presumably pursue alternative targets, and on paper, Aubameyang looks like the perfect fit.

The Gabon international has proved that he can score consistently in one of the toughest leagues in the world. His electric pace and ice-cool finishing would certainly help fill Diego Costa’s void.

Aubameyang found the back of the net 40 times in all competitions last season, if he could replicate that sort of form in a Chelsea shirt, we’d stand a great chance at retaining our crown.
