Arsenal have offered Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a lucrative new contract in hope of fending off interest from Chelsea, according to the Daily Star.
As per the Daily Star, the Premier League champions have placed Oxlade-Chamberlain high up on their transfer wish-list, with Antonio Conte said to be keen on adding the England international to his already star-studded squad this summer.
The Daily Star claim that Chelsea have even lodged a proposal in the region of £40M. However, it does not look as though the Gunners are going to roll over and allow one of their prize possessions to join a Premier League rival… again.
The tabloid report that Oxlade-Chamberlain was not happy with Arsenal’s initial offer of £100K-a-week, and the North London outfit have subsequently increased it to £125K-a-week.
Only time will tell if that’s enough to convince Oxlade-Chamberlain to reject reported interest from Chelsea and commit his future to a side who has gone over a decade without winning the title.
