Chelsea reportedly remain interested in signing OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri. However, the club’s uncertain managerial situation could prove to be a stumbling block.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who believe that there’s no shortage in signing the Ivorian this summer. Both Chelsea and Arsenal are thought to be keen on signing Seri, though the Gunners may have an edge in the race to sign him.
Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt, with Maurizio Sarri and Laurent Blanc being continually linked with the manager’s position. Until it becomes clear who’ll be in charge next term, attracting players may be problematic.
Sky Sports claim that Manchester City are also keeping tabs on Seri’s situation at Nice. Though, Napoli midfielder Jorginho is thought to be top of their transfer wish-list, Seri is merely a contingency plan.
At this point it seems unlikely that Seri will be playing for Nice next season. Could he be pulling on a Chelsea shirt? We’ll have to wait and see.
