Maurizio Sarri is reportedly considering bringing Napoli star Dries Mertens with him to Stamford Bridge.
We brought you the news earlier on Friday that Antonio Conte was on the verge of being sacked by Chelsea.
Conte will pay the price for his failures and subsequently be replaced by former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri, who is thought to be closing in on a move to West London.
In the past weeks a host of Napoli players have been linked with a move to Chelsea. Sarri’s side were incredibly successful last term, so it would come as no surprise if he looked to poach a player or two from his former employers.
According to the Independent, Eden Hazard’s international teammate, Dries Mertens, could be on his way to Chelsea this summer. His release clause stands at an affordable £28M, and Sarri is thought to be keen on organising a reunion.
Would Mertens be a good signing, Blues? Let us know what you think in the comments.
