Chelsea are looking to make three more signings before the transfer window slams shut on August 31st, report the Express.
As per the Express, Antonio Conte is ‘desperate’ to draft in further reinforcements, despite spending £130M already this transfer window.
However, much of that has been spent on replacing several first-team players that have also departed this summer.
Alvaro Morata stepped in for Diego Costa, Tiemoue Bakayoko provides a like-for-like replacement for Nemanja Matic, while Antonio Rudiger replaces the influence of Nathan Ake and John Terry.
The Express report that we have been linked with five players in recent days and weeks – Jamie Vardy, Andrea Belotti, Danny Drinkwater, Virgil van Dijk, and Alex Sandro. Only time will tell if any of those will become Chelsea players by the end of the window.
The Express quote English based journalist Dominic Fifield, who claims that Chelsea are expected to be busy between now and the end of the month:
“I think they will be active, I think they will try and bring in at least three.”
Let’s hope he’s right!
