Chelsea are reportedly set to miss out on signing Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski this summer.
In case you haven’t heard, reports coming out of Italy claim that Maurizio Sarri is ‘very close’ to becoming Chelsea manager.
It’s claimed that Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola will be appointed as Sarri’s assistant manager, in a move that’s likely to bring a smile to the face of Chelsea fans worldwide.
With both coaches’ former ties to Napoli, it comes as no surprise that we are being linked with moves for a host of the Serie A giants’ squad this summer.
One player that has been mentioned is midfielder Piotr Zielinski. The Poland international was superb for Napoli last season, which looks to have landed him on Chelsea’s transfer radar.
The Blues, though, are set to miss out. Corriere dello Sport report that Napoli are keen to reward Zielinski with a new contract, which would surely put an end speculation linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.
