The agent of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has revealed that his client wants to leave Old Trafford this summer.
United fans were full of optimism after signing Martial from AS Monaco back in September 2015. He looked to be a player capable to make an impact in attack for the next decade. However, Jose Mourinho’s arrival in Manchester disrupted his rhythm.
Mourinho doesn’t exactly have the best track record with players like Martial. In fact, he can oftentimes be guilty of overlooking the qualities that more expansive attackers have to offer, instead valuing physical attributes and players’ work-rates.
Martial appears to have had enough. The player’s agent has made no secret of Martial’s desire to leave the club – he’s broadcasted it across the football world in hope of attracting interest from any potential suitors.
Martial, who has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, has been placed on the transfer market by his agent, Philippe Lamboley. He’s quoted by RMC Sport saying:
“After thinking about all the possibilities and settings, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United.”
“Anthony is sad about his situation at Manchester. He loves the club and the fans, he showed it for three years. Without the great support from the fans, he would have already asked to leave the club.”
How much would you be willing to spend in order to sign Martial this summer, Blues?
