Chelsea have been mentioned alongside several other Premier League sides thought to be in the race to sign FC Porto striker Moussa Marega.
Marega had to take the long route to the top, but he’s there now, and he’s attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League.
The Malian, who scored 23-goals in all competitions last term, has a €40M release clause in his FC Porto contract. That doesn’t appear to have dulled anyone’s intentions to pursue him.
According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Chelsea are one of four Premier League sides interested in signing Marega this summer. The others mentioned in the report are Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United.
How genuine Chelsea’s interest in signing the 27-year-old actually is may depend on whether either of Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi leave the club this summer. This is certainly a rumour to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
