Inter Milan are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for striker Mauro Icardi this summer amid reported interest from Chelsea.

The Blues will likely be in the market for a new centre-forward this summer following the drastic nose-dive in Alvaro Morata’s form. Olivier Giroud has proven to be a worthy addition thus far, but he is merely a stop-gap, he’s not a long-term solution to our problems in attack.

Icardi could be. The Argentine had the best season of his career last time around and appears to have attracted interest from Chelsea.

Team Talk report that Icardi could emerge as a genuine target for us if Maurizio Sarri takes charge. It remains to be seen whether that’s going to happen, with the talks seemingly collapsing. However, if we do revive our interest in the 25-year-old, we may have a chance of prising him away from the San Siro.

Inter’s youth sector chief, Roberto Samaden, is quoted by Team Talk admitting that the club may be forced to entertain them:

“He is one of the best strikers in the world. If there will be offers for him I believe the club will need to think about them, it is the law of the market that counts but I think that Icardi is a player of Inter and he will remain at Inter.”

What do you think, Blues? Is Icardi the answer to our offensive woes? Let us know in the comments.
