Chelsea have been offered encouragement in their reported pursuit of Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
Our midfield is an area that could really do with some work. N’Golo Kante is a phenom, he’ll be the first name on the team-sheet once again next year. However, he needs someone competent next to him, someone who can make more of an impact than any of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley did last season.
As the Metro reported on Monday, Chelsea had been enticed into the race to sign Jorginho by his agent. Said agent did, however, confirm that no contact had been made between the two parties over a potential summer transfer.
It’s now been confirmed by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis that Man City’s deal to sign Jorginho is not as advanced as it was first though. Could Chelsea enter the race with a late bid? We shall see…
