Bertrand Traore
Bertrand Traore is the perfect example of how Chelsea have used the loan system to develop players before selling them on.

Bertrand Traore has confirmed that he would be interested in returning to the Premier League one day, but with one of Chelsea’s fiercest competitive rivals.

Summer departure

Traore was once considered one of our most exciting young players, but there was not room for him at Stamford Bridge under the leadership of manager Antonio Conte.

He was subsequently sold to Lyon in the summer transfer window. On the surface of it, letting go of Traore looked to be a poor decision from the club’s hierarchy, but it was a necessary move for him in order to continue his development.

Potential return?

Traore has admitted that he would be interested in playing alongside former Blues boss Jose Mourinho once again at Manchester United. The prospect of him moving to Old Trafford is one we are struggling to entertain, but it’s by no means unthinkable.

The Burkina Faso international is quoted by The Sun leaving the door open to a future move to Man United:

“Manchester United? Why not? I will work hard and if opportunities open, why not?”
