Former Chelsea player and coach Ray Wilkins has revealed that he would love to see Bayern Munich centre-forward Robert Lewandowski at Stamford Bridge – wouldn’t we all?
Wilkins has certainly earned his right to share his two cents on everything Chelsea related. Not only did he make 179 domestic appearances during his time in SW6, he was also part of Carlo Ancelotti’s backroom staff that won the Premier League title in the 2009/10 campaign.
The former England international now earns a living discussing the English game as a pundit. During an exclusive interview with Sporting Bet, Wilkins has been talking about his former employers once again.
Wilkins revealed during his interview with Sporting Bet that he feels Chelsea could do with a little more firepower upfront, and he singled out one of the best strikers on the planet as a dream acquisition:
“I think they need another striker of quality. Batshuayi is not my cup of tea.”
“It would have been lovely to see Bayern Munich knocked out and Robert Lewandowski come to Chelsea but that’s unlikely to happen. He’s a player I’d love to see come to Stamford Bridge.”
Dream on, Ray…
We’d all love to see Chelsea sign a player like Lewandowski, but in the real world there is very little chance of it happening. We ought to place all of our faith in summer signing Alvaro Morata, who is already repaying the faith Antonio Conte showed in him.
